Banjo Without A Master - 1865 (banjo tabs, pdf + mp3s)
Banjo Without A Master - 2024 tablature edition
Here's a wonderful collection of banjo music from 1865. Frank Converse published this in standard notation in a much lower tuning for the banjo. This new tablature edition makes it possible for anyone with a 5-string banjo to play it. All of the tunes in the book use C tuning, gCGBD. Your purchase comes with mp3s of the entire book to help you learn each song.
This is an excellent book for beginners and pros alike. The book walks you through a few easy techniques in stroke style, the original way of playing the banjo. There is also a tablature explanation page you can reference at anytime. It starts out very basic and progressively gets more challenging as new techniques get added.
